A monthly in depth look at the ECWA performers by Josh Martin
by Josh Martin
Many call him one of the most unique characters to ever walk the aisle in the ECWA. His name is Sebastian Night, who just happens to be one of the best managers ever to appear in the promotion. Behind the face paint and tainted character is also one of the most loyal and dedicated men to ever help out in the ECWA. Always ready to assist and volunteer, whether it comes to promotion, production, staff, and autograph appearances. No matter where Sebastian Night appears, behind the scenes or at ringside, one can be assured he is giving his all to entertain the great fans of the ECWA. I had the opportunity to pose several questions to this unique personality so fans can get to know him a little better. I hope you
Ring Name? Sebastian Night
Height? 5' 10"
Character hails from? Your Darkest Nightmares
Birthdate? (month & day) October 5th
Years Pro? 8 years
Favorite ECWA wrestlers? Of the past, Simon Diamond, JJ Johnston, Reckless Youth, Arch Kincaid, The Master. The present The Chick Magnets, E S Easton, Mr. Ooh La La, Scotty Charisma, Max Von Bauer, Andrew Ryker.
How long have you been in wrestling? 8 years
What made you want to get into wrestling? Growing up, A short attention span was stopped by Georgia Championship Wrestling while flipping channels. The moment I saw The Road Warriors debut, I was all in. 15 years later, opportunity finally knocked.
When did you join the ECWA? In 1997.
How did you joining the ECWA come about? I went to college with E S
Easton and he asked me to help out at a show with a cage match and they needed
extra hands on ring crew. Been here ever since.
Where did your train? At Wrestle Tech, graduating class of 1999 with Mozart Fontaine.
What is the Sebastian Night character all about? Sebastian Night is my real personality turned up to 11 with a lot of vinyl and lipstick thrown in for good measure. He is the monster under the bed we warn our children about and the bad seed none of us want them to hang around. He is basically the person your mother warned you about.
Notable ECWA feuds? Every time I have had to deal with Mega, my present feud with Glen Osbourne w/ Weapon and the two year feud with the SAT's, Low Ki/American Dragon while leading The J Team.
Favorite ECWA wrestlers you have managed? Loved managing JJ Johnston, Twiggy Ramirez, Secret Weapon, Mark Milonas.
Favorite ECWA wrestlers to manage against? Mega is someone I would work with every night of the week and always know we will tear the roof off her place and in all honesty, Glen Osbourne is beginning to creep up on him quick. Ask me again in a year.
What do you like about the ECWA? I love the sense of family we have in the lockeroom. No egos, no politics, no negativity. Vets helps rookies and everyone on the same page to do the same thing, to put on the best show on the indys every month.
What do you think about the ECWA fans? As much as I would like to say I despise them, it would be a lie. They are our life blood and without them, I would have no place to ply my evilness. They are a blessing and I will never take them for granted
What have been your favorite ECWA moments? The two year run with the J Team, culminating in the two best matches of my life, the 4 way TLC Match and the 3 Way Dance inside the steel cage. As great as that was, I KNOW my best match is still to come.
Your thoughts on the current state of the wrestling business? The business is in a slow incline at the moment I think. Everything in life goes in cycles and wrestling isn't immune to it. Character driven wrestling is coming back again and that's great news for me.
Favorite Food? New York Strip Steak with a Baked Potato and a Cherry
Favorite music? European Power Progressive Metal.
Favorite band/artist? Iced Eart, Blind Guardian, Symphony x, Evergrey,
Dream Theater, Queensryche, Crimson Glory, Black Label Society and the chaps who
do my music, Children of Bodom.

What hobbies do you have? I collect comic books, been doing so since I
was a kid. Collection numbers over 20,000 and I collect Medieval Weapons as
What do you do in your spare time? What spare time? My cat takes up all
my spare time. No, I make home improvements, hang out with friends and play City
of Heroes online. Could I be any geekier?
What kind of work outside wrestling to you do? I'm presently shopping my
first novel to publishers, hoping to make that my new profession.
Who have been your biggest inspirations? My parents. They pushed me to go
after every dream I had, even if they were crazy. They supported this wrestling
thing when no one else would. My brother has also supported me in everything I
have done. Also, my fiancée. She challenges me every day to be a better person
and to never stop growing and evolving. She completes me.
What are your aspirations (professional & personal)? Everybody who does
this, hopes to one day do it for a living, I am no different. But I am also a
realist, Male Managers are a dying breed these days in wrestling. It's becoming
a lost art, one I know ES and I intend to keep alive. I also hope to become a
successful author and take that love and make it a career as well. Personally,
to get married to the woman I love, to start a family and live a long life with
them. I'm a simple man with simple dreams and a loud annoying laugh.
