Young Jason Leigh is one of the newest wrestlers on the ECWA roster. He has been training hard and getting a match here and there to gain the valuable experience he needs to make it big in the promotion. He surprised everyone with the great performances he turned in as part of ECWA’s “Green Team” over the past year.
Jason is still in the process of learning the craft of being in the squared circle and he has good days and bad, but his will and determination to be a permanent part of the roster is finally paying off. He has been working on his in ring skills, training here in Delaware, Pennsylvania and even up at Chaotic Wrestling in Massachusetts. He has not only improved in the ring, but he has started on the road to developing his conditioning and look. He is a goal oriented performer and it will be interesting in the months ahead watching this youngster progress here in the ECWA. I had the opportunity to catch up with Jason Leigh to find out more about him. I hope you enjoy.

What made you want to get into wrestling? I started out just as a fan and never even thought about trying to break into the business. I’ve haven’t looked back since.

How did you joining the ECWA come about? I worked on the ring crew for a long time then Jim Kettner and the ECWA granted me an opportunity to perform on their canvas.
What do you like about the ECWA? Everything. This is the top independent promotion in the world. It has the most talented and generous roster of people who all genuinely want to help you to improve and succeed. There is nowhere else I would like to be then right here with these people.
What do you think about the ECWA fans? They are the lifeblood of our promotion. They are the most loyal people I have ever been around and I can’t begin to thank them for allowing me to chase my dream. I hope they follow my career with me until the end like I plan to do.
What have been your favorite ECWA moments? I loved the Cheetah Master Heel Turn a few years back, it came out of nowhere and shocked all the fans in attendance including myself. The 40th anniversary show was a special night just based on the milestone it represented. It was an honor to be apart of that. Plus the Boogie Woogie Brown tribute show was a very memorable event as well.
How did the Jason Leigh character come about? Jason Leigh isn’t a character. It’s who I am.
What is the Jason Leigh character all about? The same thing that I’m all about. I’ve never let anyone make me believe that I don’t deserve what I want or that something is out of reach for me. I will work as hard as I have to for as long as I have to in order to ensure that I achieve everything in this life that I’ve ever wanted. Wrestling is what I want and I’ll never stop working towards my goal of being a memorable part of its history. What am I all about? Fighting back the critics until they have no choice but to accept that I am here for the long haul.
Your thoughts on the current state of the wrestling business? There needs to be competition in the wrestling business. It’s as simple as that.
