DETAILED RESULTS
ECWA SHOW
Saturday, May 10, 2008
Greater Newark Boys’ & Girls Club
Newark, DE
The show opened promptly at 7:30 p.m. with video highlights on the giant
ECWA-Tron screen showcasing what happened in the last event and a preview of
tonight’s program.
Match #1
Aden Chambers/Travis Blake defeated The Valedictorians (Billy Bax/Rob Eckos)
The legendary Valedictorians returned after spring break confident and
assured that they would rack up another victory against the less experienced
team of Travis Blake and Aden Chambers. It was a fast and furious match to
open the show and crowd erupted when the team of Chambers and Blake pulled
out a win over the legendary duo.
As The Valedictorians were leaving the ring area heading back to the
dressing room, the bumped into the team of Leather N Lace who were now
entering for their match, which was next. Leather N Lace, who have had great
success as a team lately, began to berate the Valedictorians, calling them
old and washed up as a team! Bax & Eckos took exception to their remarks and
after a heated discussion, they eventually retreated to the locker room.
Match #2
Submission Match
Leather N Lace defeated The Heavyweights
Already aggravated from their confrontation with the Valedictorians, Leather
N Lace took every opportunity to punish the young Heavyweights in this
submission contest. They particularly set their sites on Heavyweight (Dan
Eckos), the younger brother of Valedictorians (Rob Eckos). They were
merciless in their pursuit of young Dan, finally causing him to submit.
Although the Heavyweights put up a gallant fight, the much larger and more
experienced Leather N Lace team drove home a point, by hurting the younger
Eckos brother.
After the match, the sadistic Leather N Lace tag team continued to punish
the young Heavyweights and came within inches of destroying Heavyweight Dan
Eckos. Watching from backstage were Rob Eckos (Dan’s older brother) and his
partner Billy Bax. They came out to the rescue of The Heavyweights and
another heated argument ensued between Leather N Lace and The
Valedictorians. A challenge was made by both teams to face each other at our
next event on July 26….they both readily accepted and the fans greeted the
challenge with great enthusiasm! Officials were able to regain order and get
both teams back to the locker room area.
Match #3
The Green Team defeated The Chick Magnets
For one night only, officials allowed the team of J.J. Cruz, Jason Leigh &
Corey Blaze to reunite as the Green Team to take on the legendary Chick
Magnets (Mozart Fontaine, Mike Tobin & Brian Soscia). The Chick Magnets
controlled most of the action and the kids fought back as hard as they
could. When the smoke cleared, the Magnets ended up making a mistake causing
themselves the victory.
In one of the most anticipated debuts in recent memory, new manager MAGNUM
made his way to the ring to address the fans. Besides telling the fans how
great he is, there was another message he clearly conveyed…..he is here on a
mission. Next he shocked everyone when he introduced the man he would be
managing…..none other than former ECWA Heavyweight Champion, Frederick of
Hollywood. It just so happened that Frederick was up in the next match
against the 400 lb. Mega.
Match #4
Frederick of Hollywood defeated Mega
With Frederick of Hollywood and Magnum in the ring, the gentle giant, Mega
took the opportunity to spread a little of his good cheer as he danced with
the fans during his entrance around the guard rails. In the ring, the mood
turned ugly as Frederick looked far more aggressive than he had in the past,
by taking the fight to ECWA’s giant. The 400 lb, Mega fought back, but he
was constantly annoyed by Magnum who took every opportunity to distract him.
It was clear to see that Magnum is less than fair when it comes to his
ringside presence, as he took all kinds of cheap shots on Mega and ran.
Frederick of Hollywood showed his tremendous strength when he executed a big
slam on Mega and got the win.
Fans were stunned…..Mega was defeated….and Magnum was happy…OR WAS HE ?????
After the match, beaming with delight, Magnum, called for the presence of
ECWA officials (Commissioner Richard Naegele and promoter Jim Kettner).
Magnum told the officials that on his debut night HE DEMANDED MORE!!!!!!
Naegle told him ok…you got it! Naegele told the arrogant manager that he was
being placed in the Olympiad Rumble later in the evening…..This upset Magnum
so much, that his SMUG MUG….turned into an UNHAPPY MUG!
Match #5
Chase Del Monte defeated Mr. Scott Wright
This was electrically charged right from the start as Del Monte went into
the ring to gain a measure of revenge against Mr. Wright. Earlier in the
month, Scott Wright lied to ECWA officials about Chase and implicated him in
the “Who attacked Freak Nastty” mess. The incident almost cost Chase his job
with the ECWA, so he entered this match fired up and Mr. Wright had his
hands full with the young star. Wright, who is a former Heavyweight
Champion, took the fight right back at Chase but the intensity of Del Monte
paid off as he pulled out a victory over his accuser.
The giant ECWA-Tron screen came on and showed happenings from earlier in the
afternoon and the debut of those French sleuths LA LA VICE!!!! Andrew Ryker
& Aden Chambers were backstage talking about the mystery of “Who attacked
Freak Nastty” when Robere’ Shields approached Mr. Ooh La La and showed the
bumbling Frenchman his new GPS device and explained how they could use it to
track the perpetrator that attacked Nastty. With GPS in hand leading the
way, Robere went through the backstage door, followed by Mr. Ooh La La, well
ALMOST! As Robere went through the door, it closed quickly and Ooh La La
tried, but he could not get the door open to go through it!
Match #6
Prince Nana defeated Loca Vida
This was a highly anticipated match between two top international stars, but
each had different agendas. Loca Vida, who is really popular with ECWA fans,
came to compete and bring his “A’ game, and that he did. What he did not
anticipate was the craft and shifty thinking of longtime ECWA veteran,
Prince Nana. During the exciting battle, R.L. Jackson’s Nigerian Nightmares
would come out to the ring and help the evil Prince gain a victory over Loca
Vida.
And as if this wasn’t enough…….
Nana directed traffic after the match as The Nigerian Nightmares wrecked
havoc in the ring by wiping out ECWA referees, The Green Team and then they
performed a sick double SPLASH (all 848 lbs. on a ring crew kid).
Commissioner Naegele entered the fray but was actually chloroformed by
Prince Nana for his efforts. The carnage continued and The Nigerian were out
of control at the direction of Prince Nana. Then promoter Jim Kettner
entered to help the fallen commissioner. Prince Nana took advantage of
Kettner’s back being turned and whacked the long time promoter with a chair.
The Nigerians drug the helpless Kettner to the center of the ring and Nana
directed them to climb the corners and kill off the promoter with a double
splash from the corners. The for the 1st time in ECWA history, the WHOLE
LOCKER ROOM enter the ring and came to Kettner’s rescue protecting him from
further harm. There was carnage everywhere as The Nigerians and Nana left
the ringside area. It left everyone wondering how The Logan Brothers would
fare later against the Nigerians in the final bout of the evening!
Announcer Joel Oresky told the fans there would now be a 10 minute
intermission.
Back from intermission, the cameras of the giant ECWA-Tron screen took us
live back stage where Kettner and injured veteran wrestler Andrew Ryker were
attending to the shaken up Commissioner Naegele. Kettner asked Ryker to over
see the second half of the show, since they were neither in any condition to
do so. Cameras also caught up with Fitness Coach Jim Shorts telling his men,
Tommy Trouble and Kermon the German how they were to act as a team and help
him as a participant in the upcoming Olympiad later in the evening. Jim
Shorts then took a moment to insult Trouble and told him that Kermon The
German was the leader of the group and since Trouble is inferior to his
German confidant, he should follow Kermon’s directions. They left to talk
over the upcoming strategy, but strangely enough, they left Trouble out of
the picture, much to his dismay. Then the cameras caught up with Ooh La La
and Robere Shields (LA LA VICE) with their directional GPS device in hand as
they were continuing to track down the perpetrator “who attacked Freak
Nastty”. The GPS was actually talking to them, giving them directions! As
the bumbling duo followed the directions, they ended up in front of a urinal
in the locker room. The final directions of the GPS told them….
“You have reached your final destination” “NOW GO” !
Match #7
ECWA Heavyweight Championship (two titles at stake!)
Glen Osbourne defeated Ace Darling
It was a Battle of 2 of ECWA’s Biggest Icons. Both had a lot to prove and
both had a lot riding on this contest. Equally matched in experience, it was
a game of human chess that kept fans guessing as to who would come out on
top in this match up. Watching this match, it was clear to see that both
Osbourne and Darling both deservedly carry the right to be called two of
ECWA’s Biggest Icons. They gave the fans an excellent match and when it was
over, The Beast, Glen Osbourne made history by winning the match and now
holding both the ECWA Heavyweight Championship and ECWA Mid Atlantic
Championship. But it was not over yet….
A disappointed and furious Ace Darling took both title belts and ran back
to the dressing room. The giant ECWA-Trron screen cameras caught a glimpse
of Ace Darling running out of the back of the arena with his bags and BOTH
TITLES!
Osbourne was left in the ring…the winner…but title less! He then stormed
back to the locker room area, but was informed that darling had exited the
arena!
Announcer Joel Oresky announced the date of the next ECWA event and read the
list of fans in attendance who were celebrating birthdays.
Match #8
The ECWA Spring Olympics Olympiad!
Manager MAGNUM defeated the following to win the match!
Mega, Frederick of Hollywood, Rob Eckos, Billy Bax, J.J. Crew Guy, Hot Shot
Mike Reed, Aden Chambers, Travis Blake, Dan Eckos, Sean Royal, Mario Zuto,
Mike Tobin, Mozart Fontaine, Brian Soscia, Corey Blaze, Jason Leigh, J.J.
Cruz, Timothy Richards, Tommy Trouble, Jim Shorts, Kermon the German, Alec
Chance, Scott Wright, Chase Del Monte.
During the event, The Valedictorians and Leather N Lace gave fans a glimpse
of what might take place in their match on July 26th. Later in the Olympiad,
Chick Magnet Mike Tobin would take a spill from the ring, breaking his arm,
reminding everyone of how dangerous this type of an event can be. Jim Shorts
and Kermon the German looked good throughout the event, but ran in to some
Trouble! They made the mistake of turning their back on their own team mate,
Tommy Trouble and it looks like Kermon and Trouble are on a collision path
for our next show. Speaking of doing well, (only not knowing it…)
Magnum succeeded in avoiding everyone’s wrath, but in a mistake, his protégé
and body guard, Frederick of Hollywood would be eliminated, thus leaving the
arrogant Magnum in there all alone with the 400 lb. Mega. The gentle giant
FINALLY got his hands on Magnum, but in an astonishing turn of luck for the
cocky manager, Mega flew from the ring and the little weasel, Magnum won the
event! What a way to debut! He won by accident….but in any event….HE WON
!!!!!
Match #9
ECWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
“Anything goes Nigerian Death Match!”
The Logan Brothers defeated The Nigerian Nightmares
After leaving all the carnage in the ring earlier in the evening, R.L.
Jackson led HIS Nigerian monsters to the ring, complete with their Nigerian
entourage, and you guessed it…with the evil Prince Nana with them. With all
the ECWA brass being wiped out earlier, acting official Andrew Ryker, gave
the referee the nod to expel Prince Nana from ringside for the match, much
to the delight of the fans. The Logans came out to gallantly defend their
tag team titles and looked like they were still injured from the beating
they took at the hands of the Nigerians at the last event. It was a wild,
anything goes match which saw both teams use anything in the arena that
wasn’t nailed down. Everyone was expecting a slaughter or a miracle.. and
what they witnessed was more than that…..it was a simple case of the
obvious. After a long hard fought match…The Logan Brothers kept their titles
by simply wearing down their larger opponents until they had little gas in
their tank. The Logans out witted and out lasted their humungous challengers
and the fans went crazy. Although a victory for the young tag team
champions, one has to wonder if it took their toll physically on them for
the future….no one took time to think of that after the show…as EVERYONE was
glad to see the Logans victorious and still Champions!
The show officially ended at 10:33 p.m. with the wrestlers coming out after
the event to greet the fans and to sign autographs as they left the
building.
