ECWA Show
April 5, 2008
Newark Boys’ & Girls’ Club
Newark, DE
Before the show began, ECWA honored Mike Clark (former ECWA Announcer of
12 years-who died recently) with a 10 bell salute.
The show started promptly at 7:30 pm, after which a video played on the
giant ECWA Tron Screen highlighting what’s been going on in the ECWA and a
preview of tonight’s event. The video was followed by our National Anthem.
Match # 1
6 Man Tag Team Contest
Chase Del Monte, Travis Blake, and Loca Vida defeated The Chick Magnets
(Brian Soscia, Mozart Fontaine, and Mike Tobin)
This contest started off the evening with fast-paced, hard-hitting action
that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the duration. With
the debuting Loca Vida, who hails from Mexico New York, no one knew what to
expect from this newcomer, but was pleasantly surprised in his displays of
athleticism. Chase Del Monte and Travis Blake, who are quickly becoming both
one of the favorite and more popular tag teams in the ECWA, displayed their
cohesiveness and consistency, tagging in and out to reserve energy. Of
course, the Chick Magnets wouldn’t let up without a hard fought fight. The
three men from the Hamptons of New York were determined to get back to their
winning ways, but their plans were unfortunately foiled. These two trios
fought for close to twelve minutes, and by the end of it all, Del Monte,
Blake, and Loca Vida reigned victorious, much to the delight of the fans.
What’s next for this trio? Loca Vida had an impressive debut, capturing the
excitement of every fan in attendance; what will happen next for the Lucha
star from Mexico, New York? And with the winning ways of Monte and Blake,
they are usually becoming a threat in the already incredibly competitive tag
team division. What about the Chick Magnets? Will these three men be seeking
revenge on May 10th?
Match # 2
The 400 lb. Mega defeated Kermon “The German” with Coach Jim Shorts
With fellow Berlin Bad Boy Big Max Von Bauer on the sidelines with an
injury, Kermon “The German” was determined to shut down ECWA’s Giant. And of
course, Coach Jim Shorts was at ringside, providing whatever help he could,
as was seen by the multiple interferences. Throughout the contest, Kermon
showed his strength and ability, surprising the giant on more than one
occasion, with several near falls. However, he was ultimately overpowered,
as Mega was just too much to handle, coming away with the 1, 2, 3.
Match # 3
Tag Team Match
The Heavyweights (Sean Royal and Dan Eckos) defeated
Leather N Lace (The Hot Shot Mike Reed and JJ The Crew Guy) with Manager
Sebastian Night via reverse decision
The popular team of the Heavyweights were set to face off with two of the
most hated men in the ECWA for their dirty tactics and cocky attitudes. Even
though Leather N Lace overpowered the young Heavyweights, there were
multiple occasions where Dan Eckos and Sean Royal surprised the duo with
lightning-fast moves of their own. With Sebastian Night lurking at ringside,
the team took it upon themselves during a referee distraction to use
Sebastian Night’s cane and illegally clock the Heavyweights in the head.
With the referee unaware, he turned around following the act and counted the
1,2, 3. Leather N Lace celebrated their tainted victory until Freak Nastty
came out, stating that both he and the audience knew something was not right
here. He ordered the camera man to show him the footage of the closing
moments of the match on the giant ECWA-Tron Screen, and sure enough, Leather
N Lace were caught in the act. Nastty then reversed the decision, awarding
the Heavyweights the victory. Leather N Lace were furious, and let Nastty
know he was making a serious mistake messing with them.
Video- The giant ECWA-Tron screen took us backstage where Mr. Ooh La La
and his sidekick Robere Shields were practicing hypnotism. They approached
their opponent for later, Human Tornado. Ooh La La tried to hypnotize
Tornado, but made the mistake of accidentally hypnotizing Robere instead!
Match # 4
Three Way Match, first man to gain a pinfall or submission would be
victorious
Aden Chambers defeated The Frederick of Hollywood with Press Agent Gus
Grand, and Tommy Trouble with Coach Jim Shorts
This high paced contest featured the former ECWA heavyweight champion,
coming off a tough loss the month before, after holding the prestigious
heavyweight championship for a year. Chambers was determined to get back to
his winning ways, and he did just that, eventually pinning the Frederick of
Hollywood. The action went back and forth between each man, with each
competitor displaying their quickness, intelligence, and speed. However,
with Gus Grand and Coach Jim Shorts interfering for their men on many
occasions, Freak Nastty had seen enough, and I think the fans had as well.
Nastty ordered Gus Grand and Coach Jim Shorts to the back, much to their
chagrin, to make this contest fair with no outside intrusions. After an
incredible display of athleticism by each men, Aden Chambers came away with
the victory following a pinfall. The Frederick of Hollywood and Tommy
Trouble then added their names to the list of those who were upset with
Freak Nastty’s actions.
Match #5
Four Corners Chain Match for the ECWA Heavyweight Championship
Glen Osbourne defeated Mr. Scott Wright for the Heavyweight Title
Newly crowned 2-time ECWA Heavyweight Champion Mr. Scott Wright was on cloud
nine coming into the boys and girls club on April the 5th. That is, until he
found out he would be competing in a Chain Match against his rival Glen
Osbourne. Wright had been victorious over Osbourne in earlier shows,
however, he felt it was unfair to place him in such a barbaric match that he
had no experience in. This contest was brutal for these two men, using
everything they had, including the unforgiving chain to which they were
locked at the wrists, to beat and try to incapacitate one another. After a
long fought battle, “The Beast” Glen Osbourne reached out and touched all 4
corner posts before Wright to become the NEW ECWA Heavyweight Champion.
Match # 6
6 Man Warfare- no disqualifications, no countouts, anything goes
The Nigerian Nightmares and Prince Nana defeated The ECWA Tag Team
Champions, The Logan Brothers and Freak Nastty
Is there anyone that can stop the Nigerian Nightmares? I know this thought
was running through my head, and probably many others in the audience that
night. These two behemoths of men have let the roster know that they are a
force to be reckoned with in this company. In this contest where anything
was legal, The Logans attempted to use different weapons towards the
Nightmares, but to no avail. Prince Nana and Freak Nastty’s hatred has only
escalated towards one another, and that hatred continued into their match,
as the two men brawled all over the ring, and then into the backstage area.
This left the two tag teams alone, and while the resilient and quick Logan
Brothers used everything they could to bring down the Nightmares, they were
soon overpowered. The Nightmares hit the Logans with their patented double
splash, and it was historic at that point. As the Nightmares left Matt and
Bryan motionless in the ring, they came to the announce table and picked up
the Logan’s tag team championship belts, letting everyone know of their
intentions.
Announcer Joel Oresky told the crowd we would break for a 10 minute
intermission.
Video
The giant ECWA-Tron Screen -The Logan Brothers are helped to the back and
are shown with Freak Nastty, who has just ran off Prince Nana, and is now in
the locker room. The Logan’s complain to Nastty, saying that they had left
the two to fend for themselves, and they were supposed to be a team. Nastty
took offense and added The Logan Brothers vs. The Nigerian Nightmares for
the May 10th show, for the ECWA Tag Team Championships. As Nastty walked
off, The Logans were furious.
Match # 7
22 Man Battle Royal to determine the # 1 contender to the ECWA Mid Atlantic
Championship, which would be contested immediately following this match.
“The Indy Icon” Ace Darling was the last man standing, outlasting 21 other
men and gaining a shot at the Mid Atlantic Championship.
It was all men for themselves, and with the likes of Aden Chambers, Mega,
Kermon the German, The Chick Magnets, Loca Vida, and more, everyone wanted
to come out victorious and claim way to fight for the Mid Atlantic Belt.
After all was said and done, it the Indy Icon Ace Darling who outlasted the
rest, last eliminating Chase Del Monte. And with that, Darling was granted
an immediate Mid Atlantic Title Match.
Match #8
ECWA Mid Atlantic Championship Match
“The Indy Icon” Ace Darling defeated Champion JJ Cruz to become the NEW ECWA
Mid Atlantic Champion.
It was just one month ago when JJ Cruz, a rookie star and fan favorite in
the ECWA shocked us all, after scoring the huge upset victory over Ace
Darling to win the vacated Mid Atlantic Championship. Darling wanted
retribution, and following the battle royal he had just won, it seemed to
not phase him, as he was relentless in his attack on JJ Cruz. Cruz fought
back with great tenacity and heart, but in the end, experience outlasted
youth, and the Indy Icon was once again the Mid Atlantic Champion.
Darling then took it upon himself to arrogantly state the fans that he
was the dominant man in the ECWA, and no one could defeat him. The new ECWA
Heavyweight Champion, Glen Osbourne took offense to these words, and got
right in Darling’s face. Nastty quickly came out and said if they wanted one
another in that ring, it would happen at our next event on May the 10th. He
added The ECWA Heavyweight Champion “The Beast” Glen Osbourne vs. The ECWA
Mid Atlantic Champion “The Indy Icon” Ace Darling in an “Icon vs. Icon”
Match, where both the Mid Atlantic and Heavyweight Titles would be on the
line! This blockbuster news was a shock to us all, and we’ve all been
waiting in anticipation for this contest. However, Nastty was not done,
saying while the two men would square off at the next event, we would all
bare witness to two dinosaurs wrestling. This completely uncalled for and
disrespectful remark soon took the attention of Osbourne and Darling, and
they focused their anger on Nastty.
As ECWA Commissioner Richard Naegele let the crowd know the next time the
WWE would be holding an event at the Bob Carpenter center, a sudden video
popped up on the screen…
Video-
Richard Naegele ran to the back, as it was displayed that Freak Nastty had
been attacked in the locker room, and was completely knocked out
unconscious. More interesting was that the entire ECWA Roster surrounded
him, leading everyone to ask one another “who would do this to Freak Nastty”?
Well, as many people as Freak Nastty angered during the night, he certainly
had wrestling gunning for him. But who’s to say it was one of the men he
upset earlier? Could it be one of Freak Nastty’s rivals? Or perhaps it is a
wrestler who just can’t stand Nastty’s ways since gaining control of the
company? One thing is certain, we all need to be enlightened on this action
on May the 10th. Who attacked Freak Nastty???
Match # 9
2 on 1 Handicap Match
The Human Tornado defeated Robere Shields and Mr. Ooh La La
The ever popular and talented Human Tornado made his long awaited return to
the ECWA since competing in last year’s Super 8 tournament. This break
dancing, fast paced star had the cards stacked against him in a 2 on 1
handicap match, but he came to the ECWA that evening to do 2 things, and
that was kick some booty, a bust a move! We all witnessed the amazing dance
moves of the Human Tornado, but Robere Shields and Ooh La La had their own
dance moves to try and “dazzle” the audience with. Mid-match, Robere Shields
wanted to prove his superior dancing abilities to the fan favorite, and
busted out a Dance Dance Revolution mat, from underneath the ring. Yes, you
read that right, a Dance Dance Revolution mat. Shields ordered the music man
to hit the music, and we all witnessed perhaps one of the funniest moments
in a very long time, as Shields and Ooh La La proceeded to boogie down to
Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls just wanna have fun”. The Human Tornado and the
audience were not impressed. The Human Tornado then danced, much to the
delight of the fans. Throughout the match, Shields and Ooh La La kept
Tornado grounded, showing that they were meant to be taken seriously. After
miscommunication on the part of Shields and Ooh La La, Tornado took
advantage, and scored the pinfall. However, he wasn’t done as the Tornado
invited everyone in the audience to come dance with him in the ring. What a
moment this was! I think it’s safe to say that everyone went home happy.
The show officially ended at 10:27 pm.
