ECWA SHOW
Fan Interaction Night-July 26
July 26, 2008 will go down as one of the greatest ECWA
programs in history. The first ever ECWA Fan Interaction Program started at
6:30 p.m. and when the doors opened, nearly 300 fans flooded the arena to
take part in the pre show festivities.
In the ring, teams of 5 fans could play ECWA Feud against Jim Shorts,
Magnum, Mr. Scott Wright and The Valedictorians with 400 lb. Mega and Jason
Leigh as the hosts.
Several other displays where fans could take part included:
Coloring books available by the Fighting Paramedic Corey Blaze.
Fans could sign up with Tommy Trouble to be selected to carry the American
Flag.
Fans could try-out to be an announcer with ring announcer, Joel Oresky.
Champion, Glen Osbourne was available to do face painting for the kids.
There was a scale where Heavyweight Dan Eckos & J.J. Cruz were guessing
weights.
The Logans, Chase Del Monte, Aden Chambers & Cha Cha Chance, Travis Blake
made themselves available to sign autographs.
Fans could stop by and play a game of checkers with Mr. Ooh La La & Robere’
Shields.
Fans could get work out tips from Sebastian Night’s team of Leather N Lace.
Mozart Fontaine was auditioning fans that wanted to be honorary Chick
Magnets.
Tim Richards, Kermon the German, Frederick of Hollywood, Gus Grand made
themselves available to sign autographs.
Fans could walk by a steel cage containing the Nigerian Nightmares and pose
for photos.
The actual show began promptly at 7:30 p.m. with a VIDEO on the giant
ECWA-Tron screen showing what happened at the last show and a preview of
tonight’s event. This was followed by the National Anthem.
Match # 1
Travis Blake defeated Chick Magnet Mozart Fontaine
As part of the fan interaction-Tina Fields & Chris Thomas were selected by
Mozart Fontaine to accompany him to the ring.
Chick Magnet Mozart Fontaine headed out to the ring accompanied by the fans
who were selected to act as honorary Chick Magnets complete with Chick
Magnet bow ties and all the famous Chick Magnet entrance dance steps that
made the Magnets famous. The fans gave the two fans a great round of
applause for their participation and then Mozart Fontaine FIRED THE FANS and
TOLD THEM TO GET OUT OF THE RING!
This did not set to well with all the fans in attendance. After such a
despicable act, popular Travis Blake made his way to the ring to take on the
arrogant Chick Magnet. It was a fast and furious opener and much to the
delight of the fans, young Travis Blake pinned Mozart Fontaine. It was the
fans who got the last laugh on Fontaine in the end!
Announcer Joel Oresky was about to draw FREE Tickets for the WWE show at
the Bob Carpenter Center when he was interrupted by Frederick of Hollywood
and his manager, Magnum. The two said the fans did not deserve the tickets
and that they would use the free tickets for themselves. They also took the
opportunity to bash Freak Nastty. All of a sudden Nastty hit the ring
unannounced and got right in the faces of Frederick and his antagonizing
manager. After Nastty grabbed the tickets away from Frederick, Magnum got
too close to Nastty who put his hands on Magnum, prompting a scuffle between
Frederick and Nastty. Protecting his face, Magnum scurried out of the ring,
as did Frederick (with the help of Nastty). Frederick and Magnum
unceremoniously headed back to the locker room. After the incident, Joel
Oresky drew lucky numbers and two lucky fans won a pair of tickets each to
the August 9 WWE event.
Match # 2
Mr. Scott Wright defeated Heavyweight Dan Eckos
As part of the fan interaction-Marty Aliahmed was invited to the ring to be
the guest ring announcer to announce the contestants in this match.
It was Mr. Wright’s wild accusations that had Dan Ecko’s partner Heavyweight
Sean Royal suspended in the on going investigation of who attacked Freak
Nastty. Now this was Dan’s chance to avenge his partner’s suspension and
possibly get Royal reinstated back on the roster. It was also a chance for
young Dan to shut Mr. Wrights big mouth once and for all. Going into the
match, it was announced that if Dan lost, he too would be placed on the
suspended/inactive list from competing at future ECWA events. Dan took the
fight to Wright and came close several times almost defeating the wily
veteran. In the end, experience paid off as Dan rushed the corner and Mr.
Wright sweeped Dan’s legs and posted his own feet on the ropes for leverage
thus pinning the youngster. Fans were stunned, as now it appears the ECWA
would be without both Heavyweights. A dejected Dan Eckos left t the ring,
with his future in question. Mr. Wright, the former two time ECWA
Heavyweight Champion left the ring with another win under his belt.
Match #3
Tommy Trouble defeated Kermon the German w/Jim Shorts
As part of the fan interaction-5 year old Alan Director was selected by
Tommy Trouble to accompany him to the ring carrying the American Flag.
This match was not electrically charged due to the international rivalry,
but it was personal as Tommy Trouble was out to avenge the months of abuse
he took at the hands of Kermon the German and his mentor, fitness coach, Jim
Shorts. This was the 1st time that Tommy Trouble heard the cheers of the
fans and it really inspired him. After a hard fought battle, Tommy Trouble
defeated the Bad Boy from Berlin and fans erupted in USA chants as
Tommy hoisted young fan Alan Director on his shoulder as he waived the
American Flag. It was a classic ECWA moment!
Announcer Joel Oresky read birthdays and next show announcements.
Match #4
Leather N Lace w/Sebastian Night
defeated
The Valedictorians (Billy Bax & Rob Eckos)
As part of the fan interaction-Mike Ingerson was invited to join Joel Oresky at the announcer’s table to commentate this match to the fans.
Leather N Lace and their manager Sebastian Night definitely had a game plan
coming into this match as they knew the stakes were high, especially if they
want to be in contention for a tag team title shot in the future. The
Valedictorians were at the top of their game too and throughout the hard
fought battle both teams worked hard to gain the victory. As history has a
way of repeating itself, it did once again as Leather n Lace pulled out
another victory by having their crafty manager Sebastian Night interfere in
the end of the match, which left the Valedictorians irate.
Match #5
Prince Nana & R.L. Jackson’s Nigerian Nightmares
defeated
Jim Kettner & The Logan Brothers
Before the match began, part owner Freak Nastty sent word out to the ring
that the match would be a No Disqualification/ No Count Out Contest!
This marked the 5th decade that Jim Kettner has wrestled in and unfortunate
for the part owner of the ECWA, it was not a happy time. He entered the
match reluctantly as he was set up by Commissioner Naegele and Freak Nastty
(the other part owners) to take part in the match. Jim, a veteran of many
years in the ring, did his best to stay away from the 848 lb Nigerians and
he even outclassed Prince Nana for a few shining moments before turning the
match over to the much younger Logan Brothers. As the match progressed, it
broke down as well. The Logans hit their finishing move on Prince Nana and
as they went to battle with the Nigerians, Jim Kettner covered Nana for the
pin, but the ref was busy with R.L. Jackson and did not see the pin fall
take place. Jim went to get the refs attention and Nana grabbed a chair at
ringside and used it to hit Kettner. Nana quickly covered the fallen Kettner and R.L. Jackson spun the referee around who counted 1-2-3.
The Logans tried to save Jim from being pinned, but they were too late. As
the evil Prince Nana and The Nigerian Nightmares celebrated, The Logans got
on the microphone and expressed their discontent with part owner Freak
Nastty for making this match and causing this to happen to Jim Kettner. The
Logans and other officials then helped the fallen Kettner back to the
dressing room.
Announcer Joel Oresky told fans we would break for a brief 10 minute
intermission.
VIDEO—as the fans returned from intermission the cameras on the giant
ECWA-Tron screen went back stage to find Freak Nastty hanging up the matches
for the upcoming Mid Atlantic Meltdown Matches. He was approached by The
Valedictorians who were irate about what happened in their match earlier in
the night. Nastty told them he did not want to be bothered and he left the
area. The prankster Valedictorians then changed the line up for the matches
in the upcoming Mid Atlantic Meltdown. La La Vice (Mr. Ooh La La & Robere’
Shields) caught up with a mail man who had the delivery of a tape from
Commissioner Naegle naming the top 12 suspects in the “Who Attacked Freak
Nastty” investigation. Nastty confronted La La & Shields and told them their
services of La La Vice were no longer needed. Freak Nastty was then called
into the locker room where he confronted an angry Ace Darling who was
protecting the Heavyweight & Mid Atlantic title belts with a baseball bat!
After some negotiating, Ace gave the Heavyweight title which he stole last
month, back to Nastty, but only after Nastty agreed to re-instate him as the
new Mid Atlantic Champion, since Glen Osbourne could not hold both titles at
the same time. Nastty agreed, but he turned the tables on Darling, telling
his that he would now have to defend that Mid Atlantic as part of the Mid
Atlantic Meltdown later in the night.
Match #6
ECWA Heavyweight Championship
Frederick of Hollywood w/Magnum
defeated
The Beast Glen Osbourne for the Championship
This title match would prove to be a classic power versus power battle, with
both men coming off big wins. Each superstar exchanged hard blows and slams,
with no one having the upper hand for too long. Outside the ring, The Beast
kept fan interaction night going while he held a helpless Frederick of
Hollywood prone to chest chops from more-than-willing fans. Magnum did his
best to scald anyone who participated in putting their hands on his client.
Back in the ring, Osbourne was propped face down on the second rope,
allowing the weasel manager Magnum to get in a cheap choke. Magnum's
extracurricular activity prompted Freak Nastty to ringside to keep his eye
on the evil and charismatic manager. While Frederick and The Beast continued
their back and forth, Ace Darling decided to make his presence known
ringside. Freak Nastty wasn't about to have this, which left the door open
for the ever-opportunistic Magnum to get involved. However, Freak was too
savvy and intercepted Magnum's advance to the ring apron. Upon being pulled
away from the ropes, the arrogant Magnum slapped Freak across the face, in
what has become known as "the slap heard round the world." A furious Freak
stalked Magnum back to the dressing room, which distracted the ref from the
argument between Ace and Osbourne. Push comes to shove, then Ace slams The
Beast over the head with the title belt, leaving him prey to Frederick's
famous power slam. One. Two. Three. We have a new Heavyweight Champion.
Frederick of Hollywood! Magnum ran back to the ring to help Frederick
celebrate his win in style .
Match #7
Mid Atlantic Championship Meltdown (first round)
Chase Del Monte, Gus Grand & Jason Leigh
defeated
Mr. Ooh La La, Corey Blaze & Tim Richards
Because of the antics of the Valedictorians changing the line up earlier in
the night, this unusual match kicked off the beginning of the Mid Atlantic
Meltdown towards the Championship. It was apparent that there were some ill
feelings between the Pitbull Tim Richards and Corey Blaze as the match
progressed. It further heated up in a miscommunication which saw the two
turn on each other and battle back to the dressing room. A somewhat
bewildered (more than usual) Ooh La La was pinned thus leaving Chase Del
Monte, Gus Grand and Jason Leigh in the ring to advance to the next round.
Match #8
Mid Atlantic Championship Meltdown (second round)
J.J. Cruz, Aden Chambers & Robere’ Shields
defeated
Chase Del Monte, Gus Grand & Jason Leigh
The odd pairings continued but the intensity escalated as the winners of
this event would advance and have to wrestle each other and Ace Darling in
a fatal 4 Way Match for the Mid Atlantic Title. All 6 wrestlers knew what
was at stake and the action was fast and very entertaining. When the smoke
cleared, Cruz, Chambers and Shields gained the victory but it came at a
cost. Young J.J. Cruz was injured and could not be advanced into the
upcoming 4 way match for the Mid Atlantic Championship. Announcer Joel
Oresky asked for clarification from the officials who made the following
declaration:
As part of fan interaction-fans could vote on which of the previous losers
would get a chance to replace Cruz in the upcoming title match. Gus Grand?
Jason Leigh? Chase Del Monte? The fans voted for Chase Del Monte to advance.
Match #9
Mid Atlantic Championship Meltdown (4 way for the Mid Atlantic Championship)
Chase Del Monte defeated
Ace Darling, Robere’ Shields & Aden Chambers
to become the ECWA Mid Atlantic Champion
It was a classic 4 way confrontation which saw some great technical
wrestling and great risk taking as 4 of ECWA’s most talented performers
battled for the prestigious title. Ace Darling was determined to hold on to
the title he negotiated his way back into. Aden Chambers, as always threw
caution to the wind and wowed fans with his maneuvers and risk taking.
Robere’ Shields proved to everyone that he has what it takes to play in the
title picture, but in the end it was the ever popular Chase Del Monte who
pulled out the victory. We may add that former champion Glen Osbourne played
a role in this match, as retribution for the interference Ace Darling caused
in his Championship loss earlier in the evening.
After the match there was a face off confrontation between rivals Ace
Darling and Glen Osbourne. Each has cost the other the highest prizes in the
ECWA. Now the battle is more than just business, it has become PERSONAL. The
two icons then openly challenged each other to a spectacular event for our
next show on September 27. It would be a “Street Fight” and the loser has to
RETIRE! The fans were stunned at the news! After the challenge, Osbourne
suggested they start now and he and Darling ripped into each other and the
locker rooms had to empty to pull the two icons apart. As the locker room
separated the two into different parts of the arena floor, Freak Nastty
appeared and he had the tape in his hand from Commissioner Naegele which
contained the investigative results announcing the 12 top suspects in the
ongoing “Who Attacked Freak Nastty” mystery.
Nastty had the video guy pop in the tape and Commissioner Naegele formally
announced the 12 suspects in his investigation.
Prince Nana, J.J. Crew Guy, Ace Darling, Glen Osbourne, Jim Kettner, The
Logan Brothers, Frederick of Hollywood, Magnum, Mike Reed, Mr. Scott Wright
and much to everyone’s surprise, ECWA’s gentle giant MEGA ! When the shot
came back of the Commissioner, we found that he had been attacked too.
Live back in the ring, and angry Freak Nastty dismissed all the stars who
were not suspects and they retired to the locker room. As Nastty began to
address the 12 suspects in his attack, he noticed there were only 11 at
ringside…..
The giant ECWA-Tron screen came on again and the backstage cameras caught
ECWA part owner and suspect Jim Kettner leaving the arena with his bags. A
very irate Freak Nastty left the ring area to confront Kettner and the other
11 suspects all looking equally guilty, walked back to the dressing rooms
blaming each other. Although it’s been narrowed down to 12 suspects, fans
are still confused and more clues are sure to emerge in this mystery in the
weeks ahead.
Match #10
Mega & Cha Cha Chance defeated E.S. Easton’s Duke of Elegance & his Squire.
Special stipulations: If Duke & Squire win—all fans under 18 years of age
are BANNED from attending ECWA events. If Mega & Cha Cha win-all the fans
are safe-especially the fans under 18 years old!
It was the long awaited debut of Cha Cha Chance’s new look and he did not
disappoint. He captivated the crowd with his new gear and persona. And his
new music also played a helping hand in entertaining the fans that were in
anticipation of the outcome of this match. Not much was known about the
arrogant Duke and his Squire, but it was plain to see that they were an
experienced duo who were out to give veteran star Mega and his rookie
partner Cha Cha Chance a run for their money. A lot was at stake in this
contest and fans hung on the edge of their seats with every near pin fall.
In the end, the popular team of Mega and Cha Cha Chance would win with a
pin fall over the Squire. The fans were happy and their joy escalated when
Mega invited all the fans to join he and Cha Cha
at ringside and
As part of fan interaction the fans danced with Mega and Cha Cha in a conga
line to end the show officially at 10:24 p.m. A perfect ending to a perfect
night!
The ECWA would like to thank all the fans for making this an enjoyable and
memorable evening! Thanks for your continued support!
